My Name is Ashlee Henry and I am the Peer Recovery Coach, for the Harm Reduction Program ran by the LMAS Health Department. I am an addict in recovery who is here to serve as a role model, mentor & advocate to recovering individuals. It is my greatest hope that I’m able to help motivate others to achieve their highest potential & personal goals in order to prevent relapse, as well as obtain & maintain long term sobriety. I work with clients within the Eastern Part of the Upper Peninsula, serving four counties (Luce, Mackinac, Alger, & Schoolcraft).
“When I see you, I see me.” My addiction & past experience with drug use allows me to relate to my clients, giving me empathy, compassion & understanding for their situation & the path they’ll travel. I understand the fear that may be felt, as well as the resistance & hesitation that may occur.
I am honored to be the person here to help you through all of these feelings, showing you the possibility of recovery as well as the liberty & overwhelming happiness that will come from your recovery. What once seemed impossible, will become your reality as long as you are willing to put in the work! You do not have to do this alone, & I will be here to help you set & meet all your goals you could not meet, while in active addiction. You are not alone.
Ashlee is currently employed with the LMASDHD as a Peer Recovery Coach. If you have any questions you can reach her at ahenry@lmasdhd.org
