Expand peer workforce and programming as interventions\ in various settings, including hospitals, emergency departments, law enforcement departments, jails, SUD/OUD treatment programs and in the community.

Partner with Great Lakes Recovery, NorthCare and LPH’s to offer one CCAR training per year to build Peer Recovery Coach capacity within the region. Project Associate will partner with organizations within EUP-ORC region on marketing efforts to promote and recruit participants for CCAR training.

Increase CCAR trained Peer Recovery Coaches within the region by 80%. Three (1) CCAR trainings are held in targeted counties resulting in over 15 Recovery Coaches trained during FY 21-23.

Collaborate with GLRC to advance effective outreach and education to the 5 hospitals in the EUP-ORC region and promote the use of Project ASSERT, a collaborative model to improve Emergency Department (ED) care of other drug related illness and injuries.

Coordinate funding for two (2) existing Peer Recovery Coaches, per year, to receive their Michigan Community Health Worker Alliance (MiCHWA) Community Health Worker (CHW) certification allowing for a more holistic view of case management for SUD/OUD patients.

Complete an environmental scan of EUP-ORC Region’s capacity and need for Peer Recovery Support (PRS) in broader settings; create key partner workgroup to establish operational aspects of PRS; provide environmental scan results, pathways and discussion on how Peer Recovery Support can be integrated into area programs, health services, etc. in the EUP-ORC Region.
